Bellbird, Hihi, Saddleback & Tui
New Zealand nature photography, a collection of our native song birds including: bellbird (korimako), hihi (or stitchbird), saddleback (tieke) and tui. I have always loved the sound of the bellbird and tui singing. There calls are deeply resonant and very nostalgic. When I lived overseas, it was the calls of these birds that I missed the most when I was out in the forests. The hihi and saddleback also have unique calls but sadly we only get to here these now in protected pest free sanctuaries.
