Honouring the Kotare, the New Zealand Sacred Kingfisher. I always feel priveleged when I get to see a kingfisher. The NZ sacred kingfisher has adapted to a range of habitats. In spring and summer it tends to move inland and is commonly seen in gardens and farmland sitting on cloths lines, fence posts or powerlines. In these habitats it feeds on beetles insects (cicadas, grasshoppers and crickets etc) worms, small lizards and even mice. During Autumn and winter they move closer to the cost and dive into the streams and rock pools for small fish and crabs, always swallowing them whole.
This work can be purchased printed on either stretched canvas or on aluminium using the Chromaluxe dye sublimation process. We recommend aluminium prints due to their high definition, vibrant colours and superior fade, moisture, stain, and scratch resistant properties. The print is supplied ready to hang.
