Tui In The Kowhai
It's spring, the kowhai is in flower and our garden is full of tui. I always enjoy this time of year watching the verious antics of the tui as they gorge themselves on nectar and then chase each other around at high speed through the trees and swooping out low over the ground. Silvereye In The Hebe
Here's some photos of some beautiful little silvereye (tauhou) in our garden drinking nectar from the hebe flowers. The silvereye are frequent visitors to these hebe frequently arriving in a small flock and filing it with movement as they not only feed on the nectar but also pick it clean of insect pests and caterpillars.
