Orders & Delivery
We hold only a very limited stock of printed images. Printed images are printed to order and shipped directly from the printers to you unless you have specifically ordered an in stock item. Delivery time is typically 5 to 12 business days from receipt of your order for orders delivered within New Zealand. International orders will take from 6 to 16 business days for delivery.
We offer free shipping to New Zealand addresses. A shipping charge will be applied at checkout to cover international courier costs for all international orders delivered outside of New Zealand. If your address comes up as "Shipping not available to this address/country" then please contact us as we may be able to use an alternative courier service to deliver to your country of residence.
In Stock Items
We hold limited stock. Items held in stock are listed on the “In Stock” page on the website. In Stock items will normally be shipped on the next business day following receipt and payment of your order and will be delivered to most locations within New Zealand within 2 to 3 business days or 3 to 10 days for international orders.
Print Options
We print digital images on high quality 380gsm canvas or on 1mm thick aluminium plate using the Chromaluxe dye sublimation process. We have specifically chosen these print formats and the printer labs that we use to ensure high quality printed images. We highly recommend the Chromaluxe aluminium prints due to their high colour definition, resilient hard wearing surface and simple direct wall mounting that provides stunning wall art unmatched by other printing technologies. We firmly believe that aluminium is the new medium of choice because of its longevity (75 year life if not hung in direct sunlight) and archival qualities that rival that of paper and canvas.
If you specifically want an image printed in other formats or mediums then please contact us with your request.
Aluminium Prints
Our aluminium prints are printed on a 1mm aluminium thick plate using the Chromaluxe dye sublimation process. This is a premium high quality product and arguably the best print medium available for printing high definition colour images.
The combination of colour brilliance, superior durability and archival qualities makes Chromaluxe aluminium panels the perfect choice for image reproduction. With the Chomaluxe process the image is not just printed on the surface of the metal but infused into the coating surface providing exceptional durability.
The aluminium panels need no additional framing and are supplied ready to mount directly on your wall creating a striking piece of art that will stand out in any room.
We have different mounting and finish options available depending on the print size as summarised in the following table.

Mounting Styles : Plate Only
For this option we supply the aluminium plate only with no mounting bracket or backboard. The plate can be mounted on a wall by using removable stick on picture strips as manufactured by 3M (Command Range), Perma Products or Hook Boss. Using the picture strips means that no holes are made in your wall when hanging and the print can be easily moved about leaving no marks on your wall. The aluminium plates are light weight and so are held very securely by the picture strips.
Please follow the manufacturers instructions for fixing the picture strips. We recommend that the strips are placed at the mid points on the side of the print (rather than at the corners) as this mitigates any flexing of the plate once it is mounted. Stick on picture strips should not be used on wall paper.
We supply the aluminium plate only with the image printed on one side in high definition colour. We do not supply the stick on picture strips.

Mounting Styles : Wooden Backboard
If you do not want to use stick on picture strips then a wooden backboard can be provided which will be fixed by adhesive to the rear of the aluminium plate. The wooden backboards are made from custom wood and have a machined hanging slot for wall mounting the print. Simply screw a suitably sized screw into the wall and hang the print. The screw head should be adjusted so that the wooden backboard fits snugly against the wall holding the picture flat against the wall. Screws are not supplied.

Mounting Styles: Aluminium Mounting Bracket
For the larger picture sizes an aluminium mounting bracket is fixed to the back of the aluminium print plate. The mounting bracket provides two hanger brackets (one each side of the print) to securely wall mount the print. The mounting frame also provides a rigid support on the back of the print which will prevent the print flexing. The print is mounted using two short nails fixed into the wall as per the instruction sheet. Nails/wall tacks are not supplied.

We print on a high quality 380gsm cotton/polyester blend designed for durability with excellent colour rendition. Canvas prints come stretched and mounted on a 30mm deep wooden frame which is pre strung ready to hang. Canvas prints for international orders, particularly in the larger sizes (50x150cm or 75x150cm), maybe mounted on a high density foam board instead of a wooden frame.
Canvas prints are printed so that the image rolls over the edge by approx 3mm with the edge then printed in a plain colour. We have selected a default edge colour for each print to match the background tonings of the respective image. The default edge colour is shown on the 3D image which is included as the 2nd image on each product page. If you would like a different edge colour for your canvas print then please make a comment at checkout and we will send you a sample image to get your agreement on the alternative edge colour before ordering your print.

We make every effort to accurately describe and portray the digital images presented on this website however please be aware that how images look on your computer screen maybe different to how it appears as a printed work. This is because:
- Most computer screens are not calibrated for colour and how it looks on your screen will depend on the quality of your screen and graphics card and on what settings the screen has been given for contrast, saturation, hue etc. Therefore there will be differences in how the colour, contrast and saturation will appear on screen compared to a print.
- A backlit LED computer screen is a completely different substrate than any printed medium meaning that the perception of colour, brightness and saturation will be different between a screen and printed digital images.
Clarity
Sections of most digital images will be out of focus due to the limited depth of field of the camera lense. Atmospheric conditions can also reduce clarity on digital photographs due to cloud and light conditions or heat haze. When images are enlarged, image sharpness will also be reduced from what might be perceived when viewing a small image on screen. Some elements on enlarged images may not appear as sharp clear images when examined in close up though this should not affect the impact of the image when it is mounted on the wall and viewed from a normal viewing distance.
Watermarks
Images presented in the product libraries of this website are all watermarked with our logo and a copyright notice. All watermarks will be removed prior to printing or for stock photos, prior to issueing the jpeg file.
UV Light
Over time UV light will degrade any printed product & fade the inks. It is important to keep the artworks out of direct sunlight as much as possible.
Purchasing Image Files In jpeg Format
Most of the digital images in the photo library of this website are available for sale in jpeg format as stock photos. At this stage our website is not able to manage automatic download of different image sizes for each image in the photo library hence the jpeg files will either be emailed to you or you will be emailed a download link. You should receive the email with your selected jpeg files (or download link) within 24 hrs of us receiving payment of your order. Occasionally I will be on nature photoshoots away from internet contact and unable to process orders for two or three days which could result in delayed issue of your jpeg images. In these cases I will post a notice on the website advising of possible order delays.

The nominal size refers to the long edge of the image. If the full image size is larger than the range of the nominal size then it will be scaled to the maximum value for the selected image size. If the full size of the image falls within the range of the nominal size then it will be issued at its full size.
ie. An image that is 3040 x 3800px would be scaled to 2400 x 3000px when sold as a SMALL size, but issued at its full size of 3040 x 3800px when sold as a MEDIUM size.
The maximum size of each image is stated on the product page for each image.
I use a 4000 x 6000px camera however many of the nature images (insects and birds) have been cropped to a smaller size. Also, some images on this website were taken with an older camera at 2000 x 3000px resolution.
Images in the EXTRA LARGE size are panorama images compiled using a photo merge of several photographs.
Digital Image files are sold subject to a license agreement that defines how you may use the image. Refer to the Photo License Section of the Terms and conditions for a copy of the license agreement.
Though our license condition prohibits use of Digital Images for use in cards or resale of prints in any form, if you are a registered charity or raising funds for wildlife conservation we may grant you a waiver of these license conditions. Please contact us in this instance.
Defects & Returns
If your prints arrive damaged then we will print and send a replacement at no cost to you. Please choose your image carefully as we do not accept returns unless:
- there has been a printing or manufacturing defect
- your prints have been damaged in shipment
- a defect due to a manufacturing fault (does not include fair wear and tear or fading due to UV exposure) becomes apparent within 12 months of the Goods being delivered to you
- we have delivered the wrong Goods to you (incorrect image or size)
If you are unhappy with your order for any reason then please contact us either via the Contact Us form on the website or by emailing info@krystaldew.co.nz.
Please quote your order number and provide details of the defect together with photographs that show the damage or defect. If the defect is due to shipping damage then please also provide photos of any visual damage to the packaging.
Please do not return the Goods unless we have specifically instructed you to do so. Once we review your report we will advise whether:
- a replacement will be sent
- we require further information to assess the reported defect
- whether we require the defective Goods to be returned to us. If so we will provide instructions for return with a return delivery address.
